Kaohsiung:
Kaohsiung is the second largest city in Taiwan. It is also home to the third largest sea port in the world. Its population is 1.5million approx. The city has in the past experienced changes to its nomenclature. Kaohsiung was called “Dagou” by the aborigines who lived there centuries ago but its first official name was Takao which was later changed to Kaohsiung after the Second World War. It is said that the aborigines were amongst the first people to reside in Kaohsiung but with time, they relocated to other regions.
The city is home to the 2nd tallest building in Taiwan and this comes as no surprise as this city is a beehive of commercial activities.
